A Prayer For Us | Wait and See Day 31

20141028_124800612_iOS

There’s no better way to end this 31 Day series giving it all back to Him.  Will you join me in thanking God?

“Christ, you are the exact likeness of the unseen God. You existed before God made anything at all, and, in fact, You Yourself is the Creator who made everything in heaven and earth, the things we can see and the things we can’t; the spirit world with its kings and kingdoms, its rulers and authorities; all were made by You for Your own use and glory.  You were before all else began and it is Your power that holds everything together.  You are the Head of the body made up of Your people—that is, Your Church—which You began; and You are the Leader of all those who arise from the dead, so that You are first in everything; for You, God, wanted all of Yourself to be in Your Son.” (Colossians 1:15-19)

God, let us be the evidence of things unseen.  Allow us to be the evidence of You working through the lives of Your people.  It seems like the more we see the darkness growing in this world, the less we know.  You tell us not to “look at what we can see right now, the troubles all around us, but we look forward to the joys in heaven which we have not yet seen. The troubles will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.” (2 Cor. 4:18)

So, I hold onto the mysteries of Your Holy Spirit with “faith being sure of what I hope for and certain of what I do not see.”  (Hebrews 11:1)

While we hope, Lord, we wait.  You know what it’s like to wait.  You wait for us to cry out to you.  You wait for us to call You our Savior.  You wait for us to pray to you.  You wait for us with anticipation and love and grace.   Daily.  Moment by moment.

God, help me to see as You see so I’ll do what You do.

To see beauty in the messiness of life.  To see Your Light in this darkness.  To see Your love pouring out to those who need You.  As You tells us, “For I was hungry and you fed me; I was thirsty and you gave me water; I was a stranger and you invited me into your homes; naked and you clothed me; sick and in prison, and you visited me.’ (Matthew 25:35)

God, as we wait for whatever it is we’re waiting for – to get through a long line, to find a new job,  bring a child into your family, for You to reveal Yourself in our lives, an answer to prayer – may we see You and your goodness in the midst of it.  Help me to be intentional to see You around me.  As I wait, I desire to be “joyful always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances for this is Your will for us in Your Son, Christ Jesus.” (1 Thes. 5:16-18)

God, I choose to believe in the unseen.  “You will give eternal life to those who patiently do the will of God, seeking for the unseen glory and honor and eternal life that You offer.” (Romans 2:7)

All of this I pray in Jesus’ Name.  Amen!
